As you may of heard Mary Ann (Tassillo) Morning-Donohue died suddenly on Saturday January 16, 2008, and was laid to rest the following Saturday January 26, 2008. Mary was the driving force and leader of the SPFHS Class of 1968 40th reunion team.  Mary provided us with a solid path to reunion success. She started her “mission” a full two years before the actual 40th reunion event. With a year to go Mary already had booked both Snuffy’s and the DJ. As many of you can attest she personally sought out members that were presumed lost. She would e-mail the reunion team, so very happy that she found yet another lost classmate. The team was truly amazed how she did this! We all will all miss Mary terribly as well as other classmates that departed us too early.

Mary had a normal Saturday on January 19th, as her husband Bill indicated. She went shopping with her daughter Gail, played with her Collies and just enjoyed a day off. Saturday night she went up to get ready for bed, where she collapsed and died. Her husband Bill attempted CPR, but there was no pulse.

The reunion team attended the funeral and we were astonished at the number of mourners who paid their last respects.  Initially final respects were scheduled from 10 to 11 am, with the memorial service at 11 am. The memorial service did not start until 12:15 because of the immense number of mourners. The police had to introduce crowd control for the 250-300 mourners because of the cold and length of the line that waited outside the funeral home.  -- The point being made is that she was loved and respected by so many people and participated in so many charitable organizations.

So have no fear the reunion activities will forge on as Mary would have certainly wanted.

Her goal was to have the best reunion and to see every classmate at the 40th, so don’t disappoint her memory.
